About Us

I found it rather difficult for me to find information that I thought applied to what I was doing with my sheep and my breed specifically. That's how this site began.

There are so many ways to raise sheep and the vast majority of those sheep are commercial breeds for wool. I chose my sheep because of my climate, experience level, they everything in sight, and the fact that they're somewhat unique.

When I do my internet searches looking for information I sometimes find myself trying to force the information to work for my flock. Rather than finding that the information is easy to apply and makes sense I need to adapt what I find. What I read should 'flow' and be natural, almost organic in what it's telling me to do. And when I apply it, the day's routine should almost be unchanged.

This website will hopefully give you some of those options as you look through its pages and see what someone else does. I hope that you find solutions to what you face in raising Blackbellies and are able to share what you do as well.

Think of this site as a kind of feeding trough

I'd appreciate any and all feedback that you might give and I'd hope that if you have better solutions and ideas that you use that you'd share those and allow them to be placed on this site for others to use.

By the lack of ad space you can see that I'm not in this for the money, not that money isn't nice, but so far I get a great deal of satisfaction out of just trying to help other people who are just starting out and aren't necessarily trying to open a commercial operation.

But you're welcome to hang around and just be a fly on the wall. Even if it is a horse fly with big purple eyes. (Actual Size)
